Who are the mysterious students in this photo? Originally called the Wild Strawberries they are subsequently renamed Mr. Kline’s Super Strawberries. Were they wild or super? More importantly, who was Mr. Kline? Will an informed alumnus or faculty member please step forward and explain who these people were and why they had their own group photo? Inquiring minds want to know.

Time’s Person of the Year is bestowed by the editors of Time Magazine on the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or ill, and embodied what was important about the year. Time officially changed the title from Man of the Year to Person of the Year in 1999. Up to that point, the only women to win that recognition were: Wallis Simpson in 1936, Soong Mei-ling (Madame Chiang Kai-Shek) in 1937, Queen Elizabeth II in 1952, and Corazon Aquino in 1986. Women had also been included in several groups, namely Hungarian Freedom Fighter in 1956, U.S. scientists in 1960, Twenty-Five and Under in 1966, The Middle Americans in 1969, and American Women in 1974. There will be a fun Kid’s Disco and Pizza Party for those of you who are looking for babysitting, right at the Mill Valley Community Center, from 6pm to midnight on Feb. 9. $40 for the first child, $30 for the second child, and $20 for each additional child in a family. Thanks to Strawberry parent and alumnus, Janet Fay Conner, I have made corrections to the years on the Graduating class postings. Apparently, the years noted on the placards denote the fall year and not the spring year (Note to self: October is in the fall). See if you can spot Janet in the Class of 1971-72 photo.
